Field Experiences

The pre-admission competencies verificaion was an evaluation of my views towards technology use in the classroom. This document verified my technology skills based on the NETS -C standards. This document was verified at the beginning of the Master's program.

The philosophy paper describes how I viewed the use of technology in schools. It contains information about how students today have grown up using technology. It also explains that if we are to educate today's children, using technology is a key to that instruction.

Ohio's E-Tech Conference
In 2014 I attended the technology conference in Columbus, Ohio. I attended numerous workshops where I learned about some of the technology that I currently use in my classroom. I interacted and discussed how technology is used with teachers throughout Ohio. The E-Tech conference was a valuable learning experience. I hope to continue those learning experiences by attending more conferences in the future.

Accelerated Math
I attended an Accelerated Math training session during May of 2015. It was a program that our schools was deciding to purchase. Our curriculum director sent out a survey to ask how many of us would use accelerated math. At the time of the survey, I was teaching 5th grade language arts and reading and was not planning on teaching 4th grade math the next year. I attended the training anyway because I thought it would be a good idea in case 5th grade decided to use Accelerated Math instead of a program called ALEKS or my situation changed.
